The Secrets of Messer Grazia

The students, invited to "read" some of the images found in Benozzo Gozzoli's frescoes, will learn that understanding the content of art from the distant past is very difficult without knowledge of the codes that permitted contemporaries to interpret the various stories. Workshop games will provide, in this context, an answer to the questions that emerge, through consultation of a modern computerized system for exploring frescoes, a tour of the chapels, and visual aids that recall familiar comics.
