Villa Romana del Vergigno in Pulica

In the 1980s, the remains of a vast ancient Roman settlement were found in the fraction of Pulica, in the farm area of Vergigno. The dispersion of masonry and ceramics throughout a two-hectare area, in an agricultural zone, unequivocally indicates the presence of a great farm with a residential section reserved for the owner. Today, one may visit the archaeological site of the Roman Villa of Vergigno though guided tours. Moreover, a study room and an archaeological demonstration laboratory were set up at the site.
