The Circondario Empolese Valdelsa is an administrative organization that was founded in 1997. Its territory is located in the province of Florence and its central position in the Tuscan context makes it a privileged departure point for tourist excursions of medium or broader radius to all of the major art cities in Tuscany.

The Empolese Valdelsa offers a rich array of cultural and landscape treasures. These are the "Lands of the Renaissance", a tourist circuit and museum system that preserves still intact valuable historical and artistic testimonies from the Italian Renaissance. Great names such as Boccaccio, Leonardo and Pontormo lead to our territory.

Well-stocked with places that will appeal to nature-lovers, the territory is characterized by a classic Tuscan landscape and the rich presence of rivers and an important marshland.

Among the most significant historical presences in the territory is the Via Francigena, the pilgrim way to Rome, which crosses the Valdelsa in the southern part of the Circondario.
